OK, so it’s not exactly what I was thinking, but it’s actually the best of all worlds. Let me explain.
Intuit (via Quicken) is the leader of personal finance software. There’s just no disputing that statement. I spent time evaluating other solutions, and nothing even came close to Quicken. There’s a [...]

I can’t believe you have to buy the god damn XBox 360 Elite to get HDMI. That’s so lame. They should have offered it as a connector to those with “legacy” XBox 360s, also.
Hey, I hope you miss my OS business. And my Office business. In fact, I don’t need anything from you anymore.

Did you know that `cups-pdf` is a free print driver for Linux that integrates right into CUPS? I didn’t. But now I do. Awesome. Everytime I think I need Windoze for something, I find the Linux equivalent. Sweet.

Actually, more than halfway, but who’s counting?
Tax season is over but, as you may have heard, Intuit had a rough end of season. That’s why I dropped off the face of the earth for a while. There were a lot of issues to be dealt with.
So I’ve been on vacation this week. I ended up [...]

Well, it looks like my data loss has become limited to only a little bit of really insignificant pr0n. After the last ditch effort this morning, I’ve found everything I was possibly concerned about. And none of the fancy-schmancy data recovery software helped me a bit. In the end it was good ol’ open source [...]

Woo-hoo!!
I went and bought a new external enclosure yesterday, since mine was acting wierd. I then deleted the partitions that Ubuntu had created and ran `testdisk` under linux. It actually found my missing partition! I then had to run `chkdsk /f` on the drive, and almost all my data came back to me! I have [...]

Oh, wait. That’s not news. My bad. A good reason to post a picture though.
Should I mention… there was not a Wii to be found.

None of those 23 partitions were useful. Oddly enough, there were files that I think were really old being listed, but none of my more recent files. So now I’m trying Data Recovery Wizard. I don’t know if it’ll work, but I’m not losing much by trying.
