After doing lots of Google searches, checking out the Ubuntu Forums, and plenty of other research, I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t use my hardware to create a RAID1 array. I have the Intel P965 chipset and JMicron controller. Basically, from what I’ve been able to find, this is completely upsupported by all of the current Linux distros. It may not even have worked for a Windows install.
So, to re-cap:
- I’m installing Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy)
- I’ve lost ALL my current data (photos, movies, pr0n, etc.)
- I can’t do a hardware RAID
What a sh*tty day so far.
